This Paleo Roasted Turkey Dinner with Oranges and Lemons is a delicious and healthy holiday meal option. The citrus flavors of oranges and lemons give the savory turkey a bright and refreshing flavor. It's also Paleo-friendly, which means it's free of grains, dairy, and processed ingredients.

  • Prep Time: 30 minutes
  • Cook Time: 2 hours, 30 minutes
  • Total Time: 3 hours

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 425°F.
  • Rinse and pat dry the turkey.
  • In a small bowl, combine olive oil, thyme, rosemary, sage, salt, and pepper.
  • Rub the herb mixture all over the turkey, getting it all the way under the skin.
  • Insert the orange and lemon slices into the cavity of the turkey.
  • Tuck the wings under the body and tie the legs together with kitchen twine.
  • Pour the chicken broth into the bottom of a roasting pan with the turkey.
  • Roast the turkey for 30 minutes before lowering the oven temperature to 350°F.
  • Continue roasting the turkey for 2 to 2 1/2 hours, or until a meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the thigh registers 165°F.
  • Allow the turkey to rest in the oven for 20 minutes before carving.
  • Serve with your preferred Paleo side dishes, such as roasted vegetables or sweet potatoes.
